[rescue] cd-rom rot

Hi,

I've been spending quite some time imaging all the OS CDs I have. Done 
about 320GB, I think I am not yet half way.

Most CDs were working fine, although the SunSolve series had problems, 
the player took some more time to focus, especially at the end of the disc.

But there was one Solaris 2.0 CD that I took out of the original shrink 
wrap, that came out like this:

Obviously, it was unreadable. Have others seen such a thing before? The 
CD has been stored in my house, so not somewhere cold/damp/..

We all know tapes do not have endless lives, but I am now also worrying 
about CDs.
