Sorry, I misread your question -- I thought you were asking about all 
Sun cards.

Sadly, it appears the XVR-4000 will not work in an SB2500 
(https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E19125-01/xvr4k.acc/817-2400-10/index.html). 
I have XVR-1200s in mine.

Indeed, but I thought that 3dlabs' Wildcat chips powered the XVR-1200.
