Yup. Fairly sure that I used an ACARD Mac-to-UltraEIDE controller card
in the old PowerMac 7600 I used to learn Mac OS X. I couldn't afford a
modern Mac, and the 7600 was free. I upgraded it piecemeal as funds
were available... EIDE controller instead of SCSI... newer graphics
card... USB 2/Firewire card... faster CPU.
ACARD meant I could add a big cheap PC HDD to the thing, instead of a
small _and_ expensive SCSI drive.
