Software - as always, I'd recommend Solaris. Nothing's going to take
advantage of early MP Sun hardware like software from Sun.
Regarding hardware. I'm your guy. Without going into details no one here
wants to hear, I'm facing health issues, and my concern here is only to find a
good home for old hardware that I love.
If you're serious about the hardware, contact me back channel. I'll get you
