The Type 5 keyboards are also capacitive, but use a pair of laminated plastic sheets with the capacitive dots and wiring embedded as "printed" within. Pretty rugged, compared, but if you spill eg: coffee into the keyboard, and it gets in between the two sheets, the keyboard stops working properly at all until fully cleaned, which involves complete total disassbly, washing the sheets and case. IIRC, there's 38 screws involved. And yes, the reason I know about the internals is that I've had to do exactly that several times thanks to clumsy colleagues.
