Didn't the classic also have a more traditional audio DAC wired to the
internal speaker (rather than the DAC driven by the ISDN subsystem like
on the LX and SS10)?  The IPC and IPX certainly did.  It was a useful
feature in a low-end system because the DNS server could double as an
audible temperature (or link-down or other condition) alarm when running
operating systems other than Solaris.
