Well of course, and not necessarily so big. The really big ones got
/8's and I've only got a /16 to play with. They're really supposed to
be "globally unique addresses" rather than "public IP addresses" - it's
exceptionally likely that those IPv4 addresses are "public" without
behind behind a firewall.
If you want to be flamed to a crisp and beyond, mention that NAT is the
perfect solution to anyone who's dealt with multiple layers of NATting.
I've only dealt with up to three layers but I know people who've dealt
with situations with up to seven layers of NATting.
