This isn't an answer to your question, but I have to say that I am 100% sold
on SmartOS now. I moved to it about 1.5yrs ago, and though it's way of doing
things took some getting used to, I find it to be just an incredible platform
for VM hosting and getting real work done. It is, IMO, as modern and
fantastic as Solaris gets.
