I bought a cheap HDMI capture stick for $18. It works pretty well in the
limited texting I've done. I've used it several times as a monitor for
Raspberry Pis as well as other computers. I just a vga to HDMI adapter, but I
haven't tried it with my USB HDMI capture stick. Also, for my purposes latency
was fine, but I don't know if it will be as low as more seriously interactive
users would want. It seems like a worthwhile tool to have in the drawer even
if it doesn't make your happy for displaying the Sun.
The one downside is that it is a hard to be you would be getting the same
thing I got despite the fact that many people clearly did.
