[rescue] Baffling boot message on a sparcstation 1

Ibve been trying on and off for the past year to get a sparcsation 1 running
again.

I finally (after replacing the CPU) have the board bbootingb slightly. It
shows the header message, but stops soon after with

0 bad serr reg0 bad serr reg1 bad serr reg2 b&.

I can STOP-A and get to a boot prompt, but obv. something amiss with the error
message.

Ibve tried replacing all socketed ICs but still get the above message. Tried
swapping memory, etc

Its not something Ibve seen before. Any idea what this might mean?

There are no disks connected to the board, just PSU and memory fitted, with a
terminal connected to port A and a type 4 keyboard plugged in.
