Curious.  My experience has been that serial ports are one of the more
reliable pieces - but I haven't done much with anything newer than an
SS20.  The U60 is not sun4m as I understand it (AIUI sun4m is just a
sparc32 thing); the Blade 1000 I don't know enough about.
