Well, personally, I'd include, yes, at a minimum, serial port A
GND/TX/RX.  I'd also be inclined to wire up SCSI, but I may have a
greater tolerance for tedious fiddly work than some.  (But, really,
SCSI, even SLC/ELC SCSI, is so much more performant than 10Mb Ethernet
that, unless you're using them for something that's entirely in-core
for routine work, it is likely to make a significant difference.)

But, yes, power and network are probably all you really _need_, once
you're certain you have working hardware.
