[rescue] bootp and dhcp - conflict?

bootparamd is not the same thing as bootp.  bootparamd is a SunRPC
service, running on a "random" port using the portmapper, while bootp
is, as you say, an ancestor/subset of dhcp.

As far as I know there is no conflict between bootparamd and DHCP.
