Hi Peter, That's right, there were serial to TELNET terminal-server boxes, we had a 24-port one at work in the 80's, connecting our dumb terminals to an 11/23 and an 11/34. At least one manufacturer referred to such devices as Terminal Access Concentrators. - Mike
