[rescue] 2009 prototype Sun system for sale on eBay

Interesting - the only other prototype sun hardware I've see was a list member's PCI-based Ultra-2.

I suspect this device was built mainly from repackaged technology in other Sun products, with a likely exception being the video hardware. I *suspect* the OS is more "updateable" than you suspect.

It would have been nice to have seen what Sun hardware would look like if the company survived - imagine a machine like this with an updated ultraSPARC CPU and NVMe storage and a current high-end business class graphics adapter/framebuffer... ah, well, I could always cobble something together like that with a current Intel-based system, but what's the fun in that.

Interesting to note that this design had all the connectors on either side, the front and back promoted "OpenSolaris" and "UltraSPARC".
