Hey Dave,

Unfortunately it won't work, in Solaris 9 the sun4d kernel was removed.
The only sun4d remnants left is a stub bootblk that just simply prints
the following when you try to boot it;

     SPARCserver 1000E, No Keyboard
     ROM Rev. 2.31, 2048 MB memory installed, Serial #7609142.
     Ethernet address 8:0:20:74:1b:36, Host ID: 80741b36.

     Rebooting with command: cdrom
     Boot device:
/io-unit at f,e0200000/sbi/dma at 0,81000/esp at 0,80000/sd at 6,0:e  File and args:
     This hardware platform is not supported by this release of Solaris.
     Program terminated
     Type  help  for more information
     <#0> ok

  the sun4d architecture is very different from sun4m and can't simply
be patched to support it.

At least we know for sure, sorry to disappoint.

Cheers,
Ethan
