Depending on the failure, it might be worth keeping a few for testing
error paths in the code.

For example, once, in the past, I discovered I had a drive that
reported itself as having 0 heads, 0 sectors/track, 0 cylinders; this
produced a boot-time divide-by-zero panic in a kernel I was then
working with.  I speculate that nobody had tried such a drive before.
I don't know whether I still have that drive, but I hope so, because
it's useful to be able to test error paths like that.
