[rescue] OBP version questions

Hello all,

Was going to try to buy a newer PROM for one of my boxes (ss10).  I see two on eBay that I’m looking at - one is 2.7 and the other 2.25R

- Am I correct in thinking the “R” PROM(s) are for supporting Ross CPUs ?  And that you MUST have an “R” PROM to use a Ross CPU ?

- Assuming this is correct - do the “R” proms also support Sun branded CPUs (Supersparc, TMS, SMXY, etc) ?

- The 2.7 I assume was from Sun - and doesn’t support Ross ?

- Was there any coordination / correlation between Ross vs. Sun PROM versions ?  I.e. is 2.7 indeed newer than 2.25 - or are the versions apples vs. oranges ?
