Wafer steppers, automatic defect inspection systems, a wafer cryocleaning system, etc. Things where the tool itself has its own isolated Ethernet. There's nothing wrong with it so I don't advise customers to change it out. Sometimes we have to extend it when a tool is added, and rarely we connect it to a corporate network through a custom OpenBSD-based middleman box for e.g. corporate-mandated automatic backups.
