   He was in a hospice facility, pain was managed. (he hadn't even been 
there for a day)

   It hurt to type.  Mike was a good friend for many years.

   I choose to believe that he is now playing with his dearly departed 
friend, Fiona.  Fiona was a very special cat, and Mike was very attached 
to her.
