In case anyone is interested in recreating the band :) The patent for
the belt driven tape cartridge is US3692255A, received from a former 3M
intern who worked on testing them. The range of pretension is quite
forgiving, which explains why plastibands seem to work quite well. I didnt
have much luck with them. I probably got a bad batch.
