Theoretically, loosening the TPM standard will loosen security.
Apple drops hardware support at about the same pace as Microsoft, I don't see why this is such a hot bed issue for MS users.
macOS support drops after 3 years:

Apple retires hardware after 5 to 7 years, more aggressive than Microsoft with Windows hardware support, I think.
