Yep, you are on the right track.  Mouser sells 3W3 connectors as well.  It
has been quite a while since I dealt with a VLC but a couple of things
stick in my mind...the were slow as molasses (VLC = Very Low Cost), would
only run Ultrix, DECs version of UNIX, NetBSD  allegedly would run on these
machines but I've never tried it.
