Yeah, there is a guy on YouTube who kept buying several of these eBay "new"  NVRAMs until he finally gave up and broke out the Dremel himself. I was thinking, what do you expect, anything new will already be dead too since these batteries don't last 25 years or more. A lot of people don't want to see how the sausage is made.

I found the above when a customer sent in some NVRAMs for rebuild last week. Hot garbage if you ask me, especially considering the price tag.

Save and rebuild your originals!
