[rescue] SRW2008 factory reset?

I've got a Linksys SRW2008, which is an 8-port managed switch, now long
discontinued by Links^WCisco.  (It's old enough the front panel calls
out gigabit support as a significant feature.)

It seems to boot OK.  But I haven't found a username/password that
works.  What I've managed to find says that the default username is
admin; different sources disagree on whether the password is
zero-length or also admin.  Neither one works.

I've found indications that the answer is to factory-reset it.  But
I've been unable to find out how; all the ways to factory-reset it that
I've found involve logging in first.  Anyone happen to know the magic
incantation?  I have trouble believing that it was designed with the
answer to "how do I recover from a lost admin password?" being "send it
back to us".
