[rescue] Getting back into Sun - Blade 100 or Ultra 5?

My 2 penny worth….

I would go for the U5 with either 400Mhz or with the U10 440Mhz installed in the U5, both have the decent 2Mb cache (make sure you have the later motherboard capable of running 50ns memory)

Pros and cons to my mind.

U5 has proprietary memory, but there was lots of them made. Blade used a standard mem dim from memory.
Both have limited IDE disk interface (normally limited to 128Gb), but easy to add SCSI card and drives, though the drives do tend to be expensive, so could use flash card alternative.
Again from memory, U5 was limited to 1Gb, but think you could go to 2Gb on Blade (I may be wrong…)

As to O/S both are pretty much covered by the same versions, 8 would probably be my choice, but depends what you want to do.
