Once upon a time I wanted to take out the SCSI backplane and replace it with a port multiplier and SATA drives with an eSATA interconnect, but I never got it all together...<br>

As for SCSI there were too many flavors for me to keep straight - narrow, wide, fast, ultra-fast, differential, high-voltage, etc.<br>
<br>
My experience was (intentionally) limited to narrow (sun4c) and SCA (early UltraSPARC) - good luck!<br>
