Thank you very much Jonathan, I'll give that a go over the weekend. The ram installed in the V240 was pc2700r but sadly it is DDR1. I have an absolute stack of PC2700R and PC3200R DDR2 ram left over from old Proliant systems but it won't be useable here.<br>

Mixed CPU speeds should work, but would only operate both at the<br>
slowest clock speed. That's the general SUNW rule of thumb.<br>
<br>
RAM I don't know about. I don't remember if there was an independent<br>
MMU but thinking that it is a IIIi CPU, that little "i" means<br>
integrated, with integral stuff like IDE controllers and MMUs (same<br>
CPUs soldered into the boards of the Sun Blade 100/150, etc.) I guess<br>
if the different sizes are done by bank it would be OK, but it would<br>
be worth checking the FEH. I forgot if these took standard things like<br>
PC3200 RAM or some oddball sun stuff.<br>
