    <p>Ah good catch, the CY7C601is indeed FPU-less, I double checked
      the pinouts (601, MB86903, W8701) and they are all the same, the
      FPU pins are labeled as No-Connect or Reserved on the integrated
      FPU parts.</p>
    <p>The CY7C601 should work in the IPX but FP will be done in
      software. Better than no IU at all, at least it would be a rather
      unique IPX!</p>
    <p>I don't have a SS2, but multiple SS2 compatibles (FORCE-2CE),
      which all use integrated FPUs like the IPX, I didn't realise the
      SS2 was different in that regard.<br>

              I can tell you one good reason why you would want to be
              careful about a SS2 SPARC in an IPX - the CY7C601 doesn't
              have an onboard FPU and the IPX doesn't have a FPU socket,
              so you won't have floating point.</div>
