I am trying to get a SCSI2SD v5.1 (firmware 4.8.4) working in a SPARC Classic. I installed SunOS 4.1.4 and Solaris 2.4 on the SCSI2SD from a CD.

With the external CD drive (411, Toshiba XM-3501) connected, everything works fine. When I disconnect the CD drive, it will not boot from either SCSI2SD emulated device. “Bad checksum in disk label”, “Can’t open disk label package”, “Can’t open boot device”

I have tried different General Setting on the SCSI2SD with no change in behavior.

Any ideas what is happening or how to get it to boot without the CD drive connected?
