I don't recall exactly, but it seems that, by default, SUNW,hme comes up in 
half-duplex mode.

Change the settings in /etc/system or create an hme.conf file in 
/kernel/drv.

Check "The hme FAST Ethernet Device Driver" (PN:802-5333 from SUN).

On the network side, check the settings of your hub/switch port on which 
your E-450 is connected
