[Sunhelp] Multiple IPs on a single Ethernet card

Suppose you are using 'eth'
There will be a file '/etc/hostname.eth0' having first IP address.
edit a new file " /etc/hostname.eth0:1 " and put another IP address here.
The Same NIC will have now two IP address.
Somebody correct me if I am missing something.
