Right,  but then:

gcc -O -Xc -xF -xcg92    -I/usr/openwin/include  -Dsun -Dsparc -DSVR4
-DSYSV       -c -o x11-ssh-askpass.o x11-ssh-askpass.c
gcc: unrecognized option `-Xc'

because,  like I said:

> but of course imake under solaris uses all of the Sun compiler flags, 

which gcc doesn't understand.  I think I need to play with the imake
template files, but I don't much about how it uses them.
