[Sunhelp] backup verofoction

Hi,

I am backing up everything on the sunos 4.1.3 with the following
command for a 5G 8mm 367ft tape:
dump 0dsbfu 54000 13000 /dev/nrst8 /
.
.
.

I need to verify the backup. I did the "restore if /dev/nrst8".
When in ls and cd i can not see the contents of directories.
cd /extra,... i see the ./extra: and nothing there.

How do i verify the backup?.
