Keith (and everyone),

Many thanks for the response.  I did note this table in Sun's
docs (and my monitor does do 1152x900 @ 66MHz), so that does
reassure me very much.  I am still wondering about the
'monitor ID sense code' stuff - anyone know what this is?
Can it be safely ignored?

Many thanks for the reassurances about my monitor, though!
