[Sunhelp] Help needed

All of a sudden, last week, telnet and console login stopped working.
I got the console login working again, rpcbind had lost the exec bit for
root, dont know how.
Anyway, telnet still isnt working and there are no errors being logged.
Here what it is doing:
When i try to telnet, I get the welcome message and login prompt. Wehn I
type in any username, it immediately closes the connection. I never get
a prompt to type in the password.
Any ideas what is wrong?
