| But user can rlogin/telnet/ftp hostA from hostB. Also user can first
| rlogin/telnet other hosts(not hostB) from hostA, then rlogin/telnet/ftp
| hostB.
|
| In fact, Yesterday I could rlogin/telnet/ftp hostB from hostA. I don't know

This is what it looks like when tcp wrappers is denying a connection.
The things to check would be -
- the syslog file on hostB
- /etc/inetd.conf, where you'll probably see `tcpd' (nothing to change
here, but you can verify that it IS tcp wrappers.)
- /etc/hosts.allow and /etc/hosts.deny on hostB
- that hostB can resolve hostA's ip address to a name, it's name to
an IP address, and that these all match.
| By the way, My netscape4.51 on hostA always hang up when I click the "New
| Msg" button in the Netscape Mail window.
I won't touch that one with a 10' pole :)
