[Sunhelp] dtlogin and e250

Hi

can anyone tell me what im doing wrong?
i have a sunE250 , installed a graphics card and installed solaris 8
boot to prom and run test-all, the tests the graphics card , pops up
some funky screens and then passes the whole lot
yet on bootup it wont start dtlogin , in fact i dont get any input
from the screen

so i use serial to login and then run /etc/rc2.d/S99dtlogin start and
still nothing
What do you have to do to make it use the gui and the card
