Robert,
I got some info for you from Sun on SunRay's. Unfortunately my email
system will not allow me to send it out because it's 10 megs. It's some
CD that they gave out at a show I was just out, I just tarred it up. If
you want it let me know of a place that I can ftp it to and that you
can retrieve it from.
-Blake

have you tried
mount -F nfs -o ro /dev/dsk/c1d0s0 /cdrom
guess I am confused also because on unix all (my drives anyway) have
c's,t's,d's,and s's
so perhaps it's really /dev/dsk/c0t1d0s0?
Not sure at all on ide stuff...

Subject: [Sunhelp] manual mount of IDE CD-ROM on Solaris 2.6
(x_86)
I installed the 2.6 Core distribution on a Pentium Pro with two
IDE disks and
an IDE CD-ROM.
The initial install from CD-ROM displayed
isa/ata at 170,0/cmdk at 0,0:a.
I did a "ls -al /dev/dsk/* | grep 170 | grep :a" which returned
lrwxrwxrwx ... /dev/dsk/c1d0s0 ->
../../devices/isa/ata at 1,170/cmdk at 0,0:a.
I attempted "mount -rF hsfs /dev/dsk/c1d0s0 /cdrom" which returned
"hsfs mount: /dev/dsk/c1d0s0 is not an hsfs file system".
How does one do a manual mount of the CD-ROM?
Thanks,
Irwin
