[SunHELP] nohup problems

We have a user who is dialing into a Solaris 8 box that is isolated from the
network.  Whenever the user tries to nohup a job then logs out the process
dies.  We have had a local user test it and got the same results.  The error we
get in nohup.out is "Process terminated by kill." 
Where else can I go to find out why no hup will not keep processes running?
