I built solaris 8 out onto a sparc 20 with Ross 90 in it, I think I may 
have been so tired  when I did this that I said "none" to name
resolution :(

  I have manually created resolv.conf, in.named is running at boot and I

can run nslookup and do DNS queries.  I ahve added the default route (my

router's IP) and all that is working, however, Netscrape and Ping,
tracert, 
etc refuse to resolve Human friendly Addresses, they work if i put the
IP 
address in ...

ping 199.164.144.15 works
ping www.rit.com fails with "unknown host www.rit.com" :( error...
should I 
just bag it and do a full reinstall? :(:(:(:(
