[SunHELP] LIST POLICY NOTICE

Until now, I've "loosely" enforced the policy that someone has to
be subscribed to any of the SunHELP lists in order to post to the
lists. When someone who *wasnt* subscribed posted, or posted from a
different address than they were subscribed under, if the message
was relevant, i approved it and let it go through.

However, the volume of posts like this has grown to a volume where it
will swamp me if left unchecked. I'm now seeing 10-15 message/day per
list like this; submissions from unsubscribed addresses.

So, starting right now, I'm going to start *REJECTING* posts from
addresses that are not subscribed to the list they are posting to.
The rejection messages will have an explanation ("Post by non-member
to a members-only list") of why the message was rejected.

If you have two email addresses (say, work and home) and would like to
be able to post from either, yet only get ONE copy of list mail - do the
following. Subscribe *both* addresses to the list, then go to the web
interface for one (www.sunhelp.org/mailman/listinfo/<listname>), and set
one or the other accounts to no delivery/nomail. This way, either address
will be accepted as a valid posting-from address, but you'll only get one
copy of list mail.

If anybody has any problems like this, let me know. Due to spam and
such, i will *not* be changing the "list members posting only" policy
anytime soon.

Thanks.

Bill
