You have a good point here. I guess my paranoia is showing working in a
primary AIX shop where my few Solaris servers are outnumbered 3:1.
Although AIX has some great strengths, I still like Solaris better.

It's easy to speak lightly about Larry Ellison's failure
as an oracle, as it were. But that begs the question,
how much will the dotcom bust, the failure of large
customers such as those mentioned by Robert, and the
unlikeliness of the quick return of orgasmic economic
growth (a la the late 90's) affect Sun's position in
the market? Surely, the reasoning goes, more expensive
machines will be less attractive when IT budgets shrink.
