[SunHELP] password recovery on an Intel Solaris 8 machine

i've done this with sparc systems... however how do you do it properly on an
Intel Sparc machine?

i know of someone who has a Cisco IDS server that is running off an Intel
Solaris sytem.  the procedure outlined by cisco doesn't work for him.

can someone please outline it for me?
