[SunHELP] problems compiling gcc on solaris8

I've tried downloading this file and the gcc_small-3.4.2-sol8-sparc-local.gz
file numerous times. They seem to extract and install to the /usr/local
directory. I didn't see a local folder located under /usr so I created one.
I'd prefer to add these files myself but I don't see where this is possible.

Googlin' now

thanks

marvin,

you have to download a package called gcc-3.4.2-solarisX-sparc.gz, that
is the binary package. after that, gunzip it and, as root, execute:
pkgadd -d gcc-3.4.2-solarisX-sparc (where X is your solaris version)
any questions, mail me pvt.

regards
