I wonder how many of these financial problems come from the typical
mismanagement of suits...and how much of it comes from the LEC fucking the
DSL provider around.

I would imagine that Verizon would much rather sell you their own DSL for
$70/mo or a T1 for $600/mo....instead of selling that same copper to Covad
or Northpoint for $20/mo who then sells DSL service for $70/mo.  So
Verizon jerks the DSL provider around putting the circuit in until the
customer cancels.
