Like the UK, about 5 years ago all hand guns were outlawed, after some 
f**k who was mentally unstable and thus shouldn't of owned any under the 
existing legislation killed some school kids.

This was a tragedy that should not of happened if the police had the 
funding to uphold current laws.

I had  to surrender  my 357 and 44. Why because i was stupid enough to 
obey the law and  have them one my gun certificate and not own them 
illegally.

The criminals still carry theirs and hand gun shooting have gone up 
about several 100 percent in the intervening years!

How did this law change? Unlike the US hand gun owners were a small 
minority and thus easy scapegoats for in politicians and liberals during 
a time of public outcry.

The publics defense of own property law has recently been amended over 
here to allow "reasonable force" when defending ones own property, what 
is reasonable if you don't know if a burglar is carrying? I've still got 
rifles and shotguns and if someone broke into my house i don't know 
their intentions to me, my girlfriend, or daughter so I'd put 2 in their 
head and let the courts decide!
