Yeah, it depends on the school system. When my wife started teaching here,
she had the option of getting her pay spread across 10 months or 12 
months for the same total amount.

I think the benefits she gets are about on par with what I'm getting from 
as a city employee (not sure if her benefits are from the county BoE, 
county government, or the state.) From what I remember, she'd have to pay 
a little more for the same health insurance we've got now, but thier 
dental plan is better.
