The difference appears to be what is published and what is received.
Missouri is very anti-education and as such treats it's teachers like
dirt. Hence it does everything it can to make it's teachers look over
paid and under worked. It doesn't matter that an unskilled laborer works
fewer hours, has better benefits, a better retirement plan, teachers are
overpaid. The unskilled laborer is do something worth while and teachers
are worthless.
