Further investigation reveals it needs Registered PC2700 DDR RAM, meaning to
take it to 12 Gig would cost $1,800...
Here's another one for you - Dual core 2.33 GHz Xeon 1U server, 2 Gig RAM (8
Gig max), 2 SATA bays (internal) with 160 Gig HDs, dual Gigabit Ethernet
ports, (maybe) 2 expansion slots for $799 with a 3 year warranty:

Dell has a new model, and this config is pretty nice - the above price is less
than 1/2 "list" price. Quad cores are available, but they add about $150 to
